We were fortunate enough to attend this year’s winter conference for the American Academy of Dermatology in San Diego, CA as guests of DermaSweep, one of our favorite treatments. DermaSweep was an exhibitor at the conference and stood out amongst the medical community as the most effective micro-resurfacing treatment. We were thrilled to act as ambassadors for this great brand.
Allergan
An exciting event within the event was Allergan’s exclusive training dinner with keynote speaker Dr. Arthur Swift, who is a pioneer in medical aesthetics and plastic surgery. We learned some new injection techniques and filler concepts to lift and contour the face while maintaining a natural look. These are always invaluable opportunities to learn and mingle with the best in the biz.
Epionce
Epionce is releasing an AMAZING new product called Renewal Calming Cream. Dr. Thornfeldt developed this product specifically for patients who suffer from eczema, but after using it just once on my hands I’ve decided this will be my new everyday lotion. It’s formula contains colloidal oatmeal which seals in moisture without being greasy so it can be used anywhere intense moisture is needed, including the face. We look forward to receiving our first shipment!
VI Peel
At last, we got to meet the VI Peel team, including our lovely rep Kathy. They helped us explore interesting new ways to mix and match different Peels for optimal skin health. VI Aesthetics creates some of the best peel compounds available and we see fantastic results from treating with them.
LightStim
A favorite amongst our practitioners, LightStim products have evident quality and the science behind them is sound. So we are excited to announce the addition of a Lightstim full-face panel light as a stand alone treatment or as an add-on to many of our current treatments. This professional-grade LED panel has a combination of lights that can help promote collagen production, fight acne and reduce post-procedural bruising. Similar to our handheld Acne, Wrinkles and Pain lights, but all in one package that can treat a larger area.
Future Treatments for Consideration
Nova Thread:
A novel, non-filler approach to lifting the face without surgery. Absorbable PDO threads (suture material) are used under the skin to retract sagging and can be placed in a variety of areas (even the knees!).
Microcannulas:
These blunt-tip, thin tubes are used to place filler without a needle. We will be trying out some new techniques with these devices so stay tuned.
Vaginal Rejuvenation:
Another hot topic in both the medical and aesthetic communities is vaginal rejuvenation. Every major laser company has answered the booming demand for this type of device, giving us a lot to ponder. With many treatment indications and quality of life benefits it can provide, this has become an area of interest for our practice.
